King Haigler Express adds Camden City Arena stop for early voting

Santee Wateree Regional Transportation Authority is offering free rides to help Kershaw County voters get to the polls for the June primaries.

The King Haigler Express will add the Camden City Arena at 420 Broad St. in Camden, as a fixed-route stop for early voting from May 26 through June 5, excluding weekends. The fixed-route service runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the bus arriving at the Camden City Arena at 43 minutes past each hour. The final departure from the arena is 3:45 p.m.

SWRTA also will offer free door-to-door service for voters who schedule rides in advance. Door-to-door early voting rides to the Camden City Arena will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 26 through June 5, excluding weekends. On Election Day, Tuesday, June 9, door-to-door rides will be available to Kershaw County voting precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Door-to-door rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance by calling 803-775-9347, ext. 147.
