Experience a remarkable evening of piano artistry with South Carolina’s own John Hoffmeyer in recital at the Arts Center of Kershaw County!
Born and raised in Florence, John has built an international reputation as both a performer and scholar. A Rhodes Scholar and PhD candidate at Yale University, his playing has taken him to stages around the world, including Lincoln Center, Shanghai Symphony Hall, and Italy’s Teatro dell’Osservanza, while his writings on music and literature have been published in leading academic journals.
Known for his expressive touch and commanding musicianship, John has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in the U.S. and abroad, earned honors at prestigious competitions, and now serves as pianist and managing artistic director of the Upton Trio.
This recital offers a rare chance to hear one of South Carolina’s brightest musical talents up close as John brings his artistry home in a program sure to inspire and delight!
